What Is Walking Rugby?
Walking Rugby is one of England Rugby’s non-contact formats of the game. Instead of tackling, players use a touch on the armpit or below. The game is played on a half pitch, and participants must be walking at all times. This format offers a great way to stay active and enjoy rugby in a more relaxed, low-impact setting.
Who Can Play?
Walking Rugby is open to everyone, though it is generally favored by older players (55+). Regardless of your skill level, you are welcome to join in and enjoy the game. It's a fantastic opportunity for players of all backgrounds to come together and share in the fun.
What to Expect
Expect a welcoming, laid-back, social environment at all our walking rugby sessions. Players should arrive dressed for the playing conditions and introduce themselves to the organiser upon arrival. Each session offers a unique experience, so be sure to check in with the organiser prior to joining.
Commitment Level
Walking Rugby at Chinnor RFC Thame is designed to be low-commitment. You can drop in and out of social sessions whenever it suits you. It's the perfect way to stay active without the pressure of a regular commitment.
