Fantastic hosts, Luctonians RFC, wonderful facilities and five minutes from our tour base meant easy going off the field for the party of 28 tourists from the u13’s.
On the field it was a tough match with the hosts tackling low and hard. Recovering from two nights of less minimal sleep meant a slow start and we conceded a try after five minutes.
This galvanised the tour spirit and the boys got back into the game with some direct and fast running which pierced the hosts defence. The game was played in good spirit and the players were a credit to their respective clubs.
Summary:
We played 3x20 minutes to provide all the players plenty of game time.
Tries:
Chinnor were 3-2 up after the first 20.
8-3 up after the second 20.
12-4 up after the third 20. So finished up 60-20 but was much tighter than this indicates.
Special mention to Finley W, William B, Max W and Ewan ‘the handoff’ B for some exceptional long distance tries.
Well done to all for another memorable tour.
Thanks to all the coaches and sponsors and our amazing, but busy, first aiders, Celia, Louise and Catherine.
