A first half of superb running, attacking rugby saw Chinnor open a large 0-19 lead . In a much more stop , start second half littered with seemingly endless penalties the visitors were unable to secure the 4th try and come away with 5 points. A Sam Nichols penalty put the result beyond doubt as Chinnor led 0/22 with 25 minutes left.
Chinnor started the match with real attacking intent and looked immediately dangerous with the double pivot of Nichols and Sam Hick dictating play.
With excellent off the top ball a superb Hick pass put McIntyre in space and the speedy winger linked well with his wing twin Monty Graham who scooted in from 40 metres.
Chinnor were playing with excellent tempo and the speed and skill of the backs were a constant threat. From another McIntyre break a high tackle was penalised . A driving maul saw a series of pick and goes before livewire Ryan Collins plunged over under the posts, 0-14.
A classic try then followed after again Nichols and Hick combined to send Cook through the gap . An excellent exchange of passes between McIntyre and Graham saw McIntyre get on the inside to finish off a thrilling move. 0-19.
Chinnor were unable to keep the pace and precision on the 2nd half as the home team tried to slow the game down and Chinoor got on the wrong side of the referee, conceding over 20 penalties.
However a win away at Reading is a very encouraging result and some of the first half handling and interplay with a really solid setpiece was superb.
