CHINNOR RFC Thame are thrilled to announce our seventh re-signing with Oscar Heath committing to the Club.
The talented winger becomes the latest player to agree terms for the 2020/21 season, adding to an already exciting back line.
Heath is set for his sixth campaign at Kingsey Road, but injury has limited his game time in recent years.
Capable of playing at full-back and as a half-back, he has an impressive record for Chinnor, scoring 26 tries in 31 games.
Oscar said: “I’ve been at the Club for five years and I love it here – this is where I want to be. It’s an exciting new chapter and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in with a new bunch of lads. I’ve been impressed with Richard Thorpe’s new set-up and the work being done to create a new culture – getting that right is massive. Thorpey is pretty keen on building a team that will be together for a few years and that will be great for the Club. I’m excited to be a part of it and I’m looking forward to challenging for a place in the XV.”
Chinnor RFC Thame Director of Rugby, Richard Thorpe said: “Oscar has experienced the dark side of semi-professional rugby over previous seasons, having navigated through successive long-term injuries. I can remember my own devastation for him in my first season as Head Coach back in 2016 when he injured his shoulder in a pre-season fixture. Now he is fit, I feel that we will now see his true potential and I am excited to see it first-hand. He is a very talented player, and loves the Club and to play rugby with his friends."
