Meet Our New Wildboys Captains

Dan Coulon and Harry Lowe step up as skippers

CHINNOR RFC Thame is thrilled to reveal our new Wildboys captains – Dan Coulon and Harry Lowe.

The pair have taken over the reins from George White to skipper our 3rd XV and the Outlaws – our 4th XV.

Dan and Harry have both played at the Club since they were Minis and at 25 and 24 respectively, they have spent 20 years each at Kingsey Road.

They take over the Wildboys, who boast an unbeaten league record stretching back to 2018, and an ever-improving Outlaws side.

“I love it here at Chinnor,” said Harry, who can play at either fly-half or full-back. “A lot of boys have stuck around for that reason.

“Two competitive teams is the key for us. We have really experienced guys all the way through to new starters or people just looking to get back into playing rugby, so everyone is welcome.”

Dan, a scrum-half, added: “The Wildboys are different from a team, it’s a group of mates.

“Even if you’re new, after one or two games you’re in. A lot of the boys should be playing at a higher standard, but they want to stay due to the camaraderie and the spirit we have.”

He added: “It’s an honour for us to carry on what George and Tom did - they’ve left a massive legacy – and to try to build from there.

“There used to be an issue with getting teams out and that left a hole - we lost a bit of that social side - but George and Tom did really well to bring that back. We have that spirit while still playing well and challenging with the best local teams.”

Our Wildboys and Outlaws train on Tuesdays at 7pm. Come on down to Kingsey Road and we’re sure the new skippers will treat you to a pint in The Bird in Hand afterwards.
