FOLLOWING the government’s decision to move Buckinghamshire into Tier 4, Chinnor RFC Thame can confirm the closure of the Club until further notice.

This comes into immediate effect and includes all internal and external facilities at Kingsey Road.

While Oxfordshire remains in Tier 2, the majority of our staff and membership live in Buckinghamshire which has now been put under the strictest restrictions.

“Whilst the news is of course disappointing, the safety of everyone who uses the Club is paramount. Following our previous decision to cancel all rugby activity from today, we have now decided to extend that to a hard closure of the Club until further notice as a result of the government’s announcement. I have been so very impressed with the activity and energy around the Club during the most testing of circumstances and we look forward to seeing everyone when it is safe to reopen. Closing the Club is the right thing to do at the moment and I hope you enjoy a safe and happy Christmas.”

We will update you on the reopening of the Club at the earliest possible opportunity.
