THE Board of Chinnor RFC Thame has confirmed that it has accepted the resignation of Richard Thorpe as Director of Rugby.

The Club would like to place on record our thanks to Richard and wish him all the best for the future.

We are very grateful for all of his hard work since his arrival in May 2020 during a challenging time for all of us and reluctantly the Board accepted his resignation.

Richard Thorpe said:

“It is with a heavy heart that I have handed in my resignation as Director of Rugby with immediate effect.

“With our recent results being what they are, it is clear that there needs to be radical change at the Club. The Board and I have agreed that my resignation will achieve this, and I have every confidence the Club will now turn this around and the Men’s First XV will find winning ways.

“Whilst the last two and a half years have had more than their fair share of challenges, I am immensely proud to have led such a fantastic Club and group of players. I wish nothing but the best for the Club and everyone associated with it.”

An interim management structure has been put in place while we seek to appoint a new Director of Rugby. The Board is confident we will turn things around and get the team back on track.
