Chinnor Confirm Double Signing

CHINNOR RFC THAME is pleased to confirm the signings of forwards Rob Hardwick and Alfie North.

The duo add further strength in depth to our Senior Squad as we head towards the start of the 2021/22 season.

Hardwick, the son of former London Irish prop Rob Hardwick, is a loosehead prop with plenty of potential.

After coming through the Leicester Tigers Academy, he signed a full-time contract with Wasps in 2020.

The former Rugby School pupil joins Chinnor with a good pedigree, having represented England at U18 level, and he is excited to challenge himself in National League 1 during his loan spell at Kingsey Road.

He said: “I’m looking forward to playing for Chinnor this year, gaining more experience at senior level and helping to push the team towards the top end of the table.”

Chinnor RFC Thame Director of Rugby, Richard Thorpe, added: “Hardwick has already spent time away from us training with Wasps 1st XV, and he and I are both excited to see both his contribution to Chinnor this season, alongside his own development as he gains the necessary game time to become a future Premiership tight-head prop.”

Blindside flanker North joins the Club from Old Elthamians.

The young back-row forward was a part of the Gloucester Senior Academy and also enjoyed spells with Ayr and Rotherham Titans.

North is delighted to sign and is eager to kick on with the season fast approaching.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to this opportunity to play at Chinnor. The squad is full of great players and the Club has big ambitions.”

Thorpe added: “We actually looked at Alfie North last season, and I am delighted to have secured him for this year's campaign. He is a hard, abrasive backrow forward who I am sure will thrive in our environment."
