New signing to the Board of Directors

We are pleased to welcome Briony Harris as a newly appointed non-executive board member. Briony, who is a barrister, Assistant Coroner and Equality and Diversity Officer for her Chambers, comes with an keen interest to improve diversity of all descriptions in our community club.

Briony’s connections with the club stretch back as far as the early nineties when she used to come in support of First XV coach, Dan Harris, when he played for the club. Having earnt her own coaching colours being a parent coach in the girls minis section at Saracens Amateurs for a few years and with all three of her children being keen rugby players with small (or not so small feet!) in each of the mini’s, boys and girls sections respectively she now looks to further her support for the game of rugby by joining the board and pro-actively contributing to the growth mindset of our club.

Speaking to Briony on her recent appointment she said “I am privileged to be in this position. I have over the last 4+ years watched Dan as he has mentored and coached not just with the first XV but also full time with our son and putting in the odd shift with the girls section both with the club and county. I have met - and come to know as friends - a number of coaches and other volunteers in all settings.

Through this variety of exposure I have seen first-hand the real positive difference that the dedication of these wonderful volunteers make to the lives, both emotional and physical, of the children and young people they guide and support, sometimes through very tricky developmental stages. I want to be able to support them to continue to do the wonderful work they do and hope to alleviate some of the stress of what they often have to manage by bringing a different ear and voice to the board”.

"I'm delighted to welcome Briony to the Board, her vision and experience, on multiple levels, align with us strengthening and growing participation at the club". - Nick Stainton, Club Chairman.

Briony is co-opted to the Board as a Non-Executive Director.
