Chinnor reinforce the Boiler Room

Chinnor RFC are delighted to welcome home combined Services and RAF stalwart Darren Oliver as well as fellow Rotherham Titan team mate Jack Ramshaw, and Joe Green from Nottingham Rugby.

DARREN OLIVER

29 year old Darren Oliver will be a welcome return and at six foot six and 124 kg commands respect on the pitch. DOR Matt Williams commented, "After Daz's season in the Championship I have seen him grow immensely as a player. He had a lot of options both to stay in the Championship and National One so I'm delighted he has chosen to come back home."

Darren added, "I'm so happy to be back in the black and white; top lads, great club and fantastic supporters. Time to finish off what we started last season!"

JACK RAMSHAW

Following Darren from the Titans is former London Irish Academy star Jack Ramshaw. Jack is a Back row forward by trade but is equally happy at Lock. Standing at six foot five and 118kg, Jack is another formidable character. "Last year has been tough for me; injured in the first game then missing most of the season, but having spoken to Matt it sounds like we are building a team that can kick on again from last season. I'm really looking forward to playing my part and getting a full season under my belt!"

Prior to Rotherham Jack was part of the successful Yorkshire Carnegie Academy for three seasons whilst studying at Leeds Beckett University. Jack made his Professional debut in October 2013 vs. Bristol and went on to play a further 17 senior games. He was also a key member of the BUCS wining side in season 2014/5.

Matt Williams added, "Jack is a great signing for us as he is flexible in position. If I want a heavy pack he can easily play eight or six but is a great addition to the boiler room too! He loves a big carry and will add a lot of competition to an already impressive back row."

JOE GREEN

Standing at an impressive six foot eight, 20 year old Joe Green is an out and out set piece specialist. Former Leicester Tigers Academy boy, Joe joined Nottingham Rugby at the young age of 18 and has since gone on to play 18 games in two seasons.
"Joe is an exciting talent that loves everything lineout! We really missed a specialist last season, and I have been looking for that person for some time now and when the opportunity arose to sign Joe I didn't think twice! At one point in the season Martin Haag handed the line out calling to Joe; a huge responsibility for someone so young."

Joe commented, "At 20 years of age all I want to do is play. It's important for my development that I get as many minutes as possible and I believe I can do that at Chinnor. I can't wait to start!"

Matt further added, "With Ross Parkins who has played so well for the Army this season and the ever reliable Ben Manning we have really strong options in the row. Nathan Hannay retiring and CJ moving up it was vital I acted quick to fill the whole and I believe we have the strongest engine room depth in the league which is vital when striving for success. It is a long grueling season and a squad not a team is key to success."
